love is a river, I want to keep flowing

If you listen very quietly, it sounds like the rain is playing music in the grass and the trees. Nice to meet you! I go by the name Mishiro online but in the Pokémon games, I usually use my real name, Beth and — later when more characters was allowed — Elizabeth. My first official Pokémon game was Pokémon Sapphire and Hoenn will forever be my favourite region and generation. Before purchasing Pokémon Sapphire back in 2003, I had played Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon Silver with my brother (meaning that we took turns to play and train Pokémon on the same account). An interesting fact is that I actually played Pokémon Silver before Pokémon Yellow.

My favourite types are Flying (I love many bird Pokémon) and Fire (thank Torchic for initiating that) and possibly Grass and Ice too. My favourite type of trainer is the Ace Trainer (Cool Trainer) because they look so professional and tend to use a well-balanced team with high-leveled Pokémon. Despite all of that cool stuff, I would prefer to depict myself as an Aroma Lady. After battling an aroma lady by the name of Elizabeth in Pokémon Diamond, I figured that it would be wonderful to be a Grass-type specialist surrounded by cute Grass-type Pokémon, pleasant aroma and swirling flower petals. Coincidentally, I adore most of the Grass-type Pokémon introduced in the 7th generation and almost used a full Grass-typed team; oops, please don’t burn me. :P

Other than Pokémon battles, I love participating in Pokémon Contests (in Hoenn) and Pokémon Super Contests (in Sinnoh). I also enjoy making Pokéblocks and Poffins — oh those good days. :) Now the 3rd gen remakes Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have Pokémon Contest Spectaculars and I am aiming to win in all segments! I normally do not nickname my Pokémon, unless I would be using them in contests. I tend to fall for cute Pokémon with big eyes and although I will evolve them further to achieve better stats, I still prefer their pre-evolved forms. If I had to choose a favourite Pokémon from each generation, it would be Jigglypuff, Mareep, Torchic, Drifloon, Litwick, Spritzee and Rowlet.

Versions of the core Pokémon games that I’ve owned and played include Yellow (shared with brother), Silver (shared with brother), Sapphire, LeafGreen, Emerald (used brother’s account to participate in Pokémon contests), Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold, Black, White 2, Y, Alpha Sapphire, Sun and Moon. I have also played and enjoyed the Mystery Dungeon series as well as the Pokémon Ranger series. I originally played Pokémon without tactics but ever since Pokémon Y (yes, I know I am late), I have paid more attention to hidden abilities, IVs and EVs. It was also during that time when I learned about IV breeding, EV training and shiny chaining. Anyhow, I still have no confidence to battle competitively because all I’ve ever bred were my favourite Pokémon (with the right nature) to be used in contests! xD

Other than playing the games, I also follow the Pokémon Adventures (Pokémon Special) manga closely. It is the best manga that has ever happened to me and shipping hell ensues. I also watched quite a number of episodes of the Pokémon anime series. I am most familiar with the Original series (Indigo League to Master Quest) and the Advanced Generation series (the Hoenn arc with Max and May). I also selectively watched some episodes from the Diamond & Pearl series, very few episodes from the Best Wishes series and also some Japanese episodes from the XY series. Currently, I am following the Sun & Moon series and secretly hoping that Ilima or Nanu would debut soon. xD
